Since our company’s founding in 1973, we have continuously concentrated on natural resources that we can use indefinitely by conducting innovative research and development focusing on developing products that can be recycled and do not have adverse impact the earth when used, particularly on the ozone layer, which impacts human health and shields the earth from the direct ultraviolet rays of the sun. We hope that the findings of these research will help us achieve the long-term wellness of every person, animal, and plant that inhabits the planet as well as help us become the world’s most sustainable business.

Our research has shown that our patented ingredients, Ozone Gel (for drug development) and Glycenergy (for cosmetics), have an outstanding ability to elicit biological responses that humans, animals, and plants inherently possess. By advancing this novel study, we will increase our understanding of the biological response mechanism, which is sometimes referred to as the “secret of life” and is still poorly understood by modern science. It has been 50 years since our founding, and our company is now entering a major epoch. This is because Glycernergy was produced due to technological advancement that has made it more stable and is based on the ozone gels developed for pharmaceuticals for many years. We have a long history of technological advancement in this transition from Ozone Gel to Glycernergy, with constant and repeated trials and errors to address the needs of the world.
When he founded the company, my father used ozone, an environmentally compatible substance, to ameliorate the environmental destruction of hypochlorous acid in the paper industry. This produced various outcomes through collaborative research with national laboratories and major listed companies, from a way to safely bleach paper, sterilize water and sewerage systems, and projects to improve the environment. A major turning point was our patented ozone water generator. When we were researching for alcohol substitute to the prevent hand roughness, a doctor in the surgical field asked, “Could this water not only suppress hand roughness, but also promote wound healing?” Following that, I was astounded to witness that it was used in numerous clinical studies in the medical profession to save the lives of patients with severe burns, and I came to understand the unique healing potential and ability of our ozone water to activate biological activities.
However, the major issues with ozone water were its stability since it reverts into regular water after about an hour and the cost of the generator, which put a heavy financial load on medical facilities. We started working on technologies that can sustain the advantages of ozonated water over an extended length of time to address these problems. Finally, in 2002, we succeeded in developing an Ozone Gel that can maintain wound healing promotion effects. Over the next 20 years, research on Ozone Gel was carried out with the aim of drug development, and over 100 papers were published and conference presentations were made. In 2018, a development project for treating mastitis in cows was adopted by JST (under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology), a general sales agency agreement was also signed with Sumitomo Corporation, and efforts to market drugs for humans and animals are continuing in collaboration with many universities and research institutes. Many clinical results have been obtained, starting with cases where horses and cows were actually saved. The pharmaceutical business is currently underway as a long-term project.
Now, I want to talk about the epoch I wrote at the beginning. The skin is a mirror of health. If you must take medication when the condition of the skin deteriorates, it is preferable to recognize early warning signs and adjust the condition before the symptoms worsen and to maintain a healthy skin condition by stimulating the inherent strength of the skin. In response to this desperate desire that everyone has, we have received many comments about how important people find the skincare products and cosmetics we use daily. This was the reason for our decision to focus on skin care products in addition to drug development. The development of clinical data and the outcomes of trials and errors with real skincare cosmetics have enhanced safety and stability. Finally, we could confidently announce to the world the birth of the patented active ingredient Glycernergy.
Glycenergy is a unique skincare ingredient in the world that has successfully enhanced the functionality of 100% plant-derived glycerin through our patented technology, Ozonation. The manufacturing method called Ozonation is a chemical-free manufacturing method backed by a 50 year track record. It has the highest level of sustainability that is friendly to people, animals, and the environment at large because it uses no chemicals or catalysts. Although, sustainable materials are environmentally friendly, there are aspects where their effectiveness leaves something to be desired. However, in addition to the burns I mentioned earlier, reliable effects were found in the drug discovery process for skin diseases such as pressure sores and atopic dermatitis. Glycenergy’s greatest feature is that it is highly effective like pharmaceuticals, and friendly to living organisms and the global environment. I believe it is the ultimate ingredient that truly matches the needs of the time.

Active glycerin (Ozonized Glycerin) is the result of approximately 50 years of innovative research and development (R&D) since Mediplus Pharma’s inception (formerly VMC Co., Ltd.).
Our patented ingredient, ozonated glycerin, is a 100% plant-based raw material.Glycerin is commonly used in foods, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals. We have made glycerin highly functional without the use of any chemicals, but rather through our unique patented technology. Not only is the raw material derived from plants, but the manufacturing process is also chemical-free, making it extremely sustainable and safe for humans, animals, and the earth (the environment). On the contrary, while sustainable materials tend to be gentle, they often lack effectiveness and practicality.
Ozonated glycerin, discovered during drug discovery for skin diseases such as atopic dermatitis, is still being researched as a therapeutic agent. However, we believe that this ingredient meets the needs of the future by being completely safe for the global environment while also being highly functional.
This is solely because ozonated glycerin enhances the body’s functions. Until now, the industry’s unwavering consensus has been in favor of antioxidants and against oxidation. However, the body is balanced between oxidation and reduction; there is no shortcut that simply removes reactive oxygen species. This approach of “maintaining balance” is known as redox*, and it is a new concept in drug discovery and cosmetics.
In other words, it is important to acknowledge the body’s functions and enhance its self-healing power.
