Penicillinase

It is an enzyme that inactivates penicillin.

Antibiotic

It is a compound produced by microorganisms that has the effect of inhibiting the growth of other microorganisms and cells.

Methicillin

Methicillin is an antibiotic of the penicillin class. It is rarely used because it is unstable and difficult to handle in medical facilities.

Staphylococcus epidermidis

Staphylococcus epidermidis is a commensal bacterium found on human skin surfaces and in nasal cavities. It lacks the variety of toxins found in Staphylococcus aureus, but it can still cause infections particularly in individuals with implants and catheters.

Povidone-iodine

Povidone-iodine is an antiseptic used for skin disinfection. It is effective against Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria, tubercle bacillus, as well as fungi and some viruses. Additionally, it can be used continuously and is believed to be effective against drug-resistant bacteria.
